Cello Lessons in Skagit County

Students at all levels are welcome: beginner, intermediate and advanced, with no previous musical training required. I teach children age 5 and up, who come from Snohomish, Island, Whatcom and Skagit Counties. My focus is on establishing solid form and technique from the start, reducing tension while playing, understanding rhythm and basic music theory, learning to play in ensembles, and, above all, fostering a love of music-making and expression at any level. We will spend time on all of these aspects in our lessons, regardless of the student’s current level. Even beginners will make music and play duets from the start!

Lessons are 45 or 60 minutes in length, with the exception of the youngest students, who may take 30 minute lessons. Generally, beginners should start at 45 minutes for the first year and move to one hour after a year of study.

I teach at my home studio in Sedro-Woolley Monday through Friday.  Lessons are in-person or online via Zoom.
